Dear District 5 Residents,
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of joining the Felton Remembers Parade with my kids and our dog Hank. It was a beautiful day for the beloved small-town tradition that brings our community together each year to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.
The parade drew neighbors, local organizations, and families from across the area. After the procession ended, people gathered at the Covered Bridge Festival in the park to enjoy the afternoon together. Both events were reminders of how special this community is and were heartfelt and joyful celebrations of everything we have to be grateful for.
As we recognize Memorial Day this year, I hope everyone will take a moment to reflect on the history and meaning of the day, and to remember the fallen heroes who sacrificed everything to protect the freedoms we enjoy.
County offices are closed today in observance of the national holiday.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and restful day,
