Dear District 5 Resident,
In response to concerns raised by members of our community, I am hosting a town hall meeting with PG&E representatives on Monday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. in Boulder Creek.
Our district continues to experience challenges with PG&E – frequent and extended power outages, infrastructure reliability issues, vegetation management approaches, rising rates, lack of clear communications, and more.
Most recently, extended power outages during the winter storms left individuals and families in the dark for up to five days over the holidays, and in some cases longer. This situation was extremely disruptive and stressful for everyone, especially seniors and those with limited means.
The purpose of the town hall is for you to share feedback directly with PG&E leadership and to hear their response to your concerns. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about resources they offer and sign up if eligible.
As your Supervisor, part of my job is to advocate for the needs of our district. This town hall is one way to bring forward our collective concerns as a community.
My goal is to ensure that your voices are heard and that we can have a transparent, constructive conversation about how we can address and improve the issues impacting our community.
What to Expect
- Ask questions and share your experiences directly with PG&E leaders during an open Q&A session.
- PG&E will discuss the following topics: storm response, vegetation management, infrastructure and system hardening, circuit configurations, and more.
- PG&E staff will be on hand to help you apply and sign up for resources such as back up batteries, rebates for generators, medical and accessibility support, backup power transfer meter, and the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) and Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) programs.
