Dear District Five Resident,
On Thursday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m., I am hosting a town hall with Caltrans to discuss the State Route 9 Felton Safety Improvements project, commonly known as the “sidewalk project.” Once complete, the project will add a sidewalk between the SLV tri-campus and the Graham Hill Road intersection creating a safer route for students, families, and other pedestrians in the community.
Over the past year, many of you have reached out to my office with questions or concerns about this project. The town hall is an opportunity to learn more about the safety improvements underway and share your feedback directly with Caltrans.
What to Expect:
- Caltrans will provide an overview of the project’s history and purpose, share updates and upcoming timelines, and discuss other important information for the community. They will also give a high-level over of other projects planned or underway in the San Lorenzo Valley area.
- Representatives from the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District and Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission will join the conversation.
- You will be able to ask questions directly to Caltrans during the Q&A session or visit their resource table after the main event for another opportunity to speak with Caltrans and get more information.
RSVP not required, but it does help us with planning (RSVP here). If you have any questions, please contact me at Fifth.District@santacruzcountyca.gov.
I hope to see you there!
