Dear District 5 Resident,
For those of you who missed my District 5 town hall last week with PG&E, I wanted to share the event recording and other follow up materials.
The town hall was structured a little differently than you might expect. In addition to a presentation by PG&E and audience Q&A, a significant portion of the evening was designed for residents to meet directly with PG&E subject matter experts to get their questions answered. There were five stations set up around the room in the following areas:
- Enhanced Powerline Safety Setting (EPSS) and wildfire safety
- Vegetation management
- Notification process and timeline
- Backup power programs
- Resources (e.g., back up batteries, rebates for generators, etc.)
If you have a question for PG&E about any of these issues (or others) or would like more information about how to sign up for resources, I encourage you to email PG&E at southbaycentralcoastregion@pge.com or email my office at fifth.district@santacruzcountyca.gov and my staff will help connect you with a PG&E representative.
Lastly, the Santa Cruz Long Term Recovery Group is seeking your input! They are working with PG&E to collect community feedback about climate impacts and energy outages to inform PG&E's planning and infrastructure investments. Share your thoughts on this important issue by filling out the survey (English or Spanish). For more information, check out the factsheet.
Sincerely,
